Founding coach beta · free, no card

The videos that sell your program should show your real work.

For coaches with a $5K+ program who edit, or pay an editor

lazycut does the grunt work, covering each line of your video with footage you filmed, so you or your editor can spend the time on the 20% that makes it yours.

Free for you or your editor during the beta. No stock footage, ever.

The 80/20

lazycut does the 80%. The 20% that makes it yours stays human.

80%

lazycut does the grunt work

  • Logs the clips in your footage folder
  • Finds a shot for each line of your script
  • Places it under the line and says why
  • Hands you a rough cut to finish, not an evening of scrubbing

20%

You or your editor do the creative

  • The story
  • What stays and what goes
  • The taste
  • The final polish
Kyle

I'm Kyle, and I have a full-time job. I built lazycut to do the 80% so my time goes to the 20%.

It's a tool you or your editor run, not an editing service.

Kyle

The demo

lazycut proposed 5 cutaways. I kept 3. That's the 20%.

  • ✓7 lines, searched against 275 shots of my own footage
  • ✓5 cutaways proposed, each with a reason
  • ✓2 removed by me, so those lines stay on me

My own talk, since I'm not a coach. Best of three runs, cut with the Mac version.

  • kept
  • nothing fit, on me
  • removed by me

Who it's for

Coaches whose own footage can do the selling.

It fits if all four are true:

  • You sell a program at $5,000 or more.
  • You post long-form video on YouTube, or want to.
  • You've filmed more than your talking head: events, workshops, training, daily life.
  • You edit your videos, or pay someone who does.

Not a fit if you need short-form clips by the dozen or ad variants, or want it done for you.

How it works

Three steps. The last one is yours.

  1. Record, then point at your footage.

Paste your script into lazycut and pick the folder with everything you've filmed. Phone footage is fine.

  2. lazycut covers each line.

It picks a shot of yours for each line and says why. Where nothing fits, you stay on camera.

  3. You finish the 20%.

Open the rough cut in DaVinci Resolve (free) or Final Cut. Keep, swap or cut, then publish.

The browser version estimates timing from your script. Cutting straight from your recording works in the Mac command-line version.

What I ask

Honest feedback after your first video.

One short email: what worked and what didn't.

Questions

Who sees my footage?

Your video files stay on your computer. lazycut sends two small stills from each shot to Claude, Anthropic's AI model, to be described, through a business service that doesn't train on your data.

Only use client footage you have permission to show.

Which editors does it work with?

The rough cut opens in DaVinci Resolve (free) or Final Cut. Resolve runs on Mac and Windows; Final Cut is Mac only. On Windows, leave the folder path blank and relink the media in Resolve.

What footage works?

Anything beyond the talking head: events, workshops, training, daily life. Phone footage is fine, and you don't need to sort it first.

If clients appear in a clip, use it only with their consent.

What does it cost?

Nothing during the beta, and no card. Before it ends, I'll email you what it will cost, and nothing auto-renews.
